Summer, Cherry, Joy, Tim, Joshua’s reflection (Group “Shopping Mall” )
Translated from Chinese
We are satisfied with the trip. This is because we have learnt how to make paper and pineapple tarts. There are many learning points from the museums which we have visited.
Other observation we have made: Students from Singchia are able to wear home clothes and shoes to school. Moreover, there is no need for girls with long hair to tie up their hair, and the hair clips they used are colourful. Although we have to wear school uniform and follow school rules on what to wear, there is no need for us to complain, but to be positive. The reason why we wear school uniform and shoes is because we look neat and tidy as a school. We understand that there are pros and cons in decisions made by the school.
Janelle’s reflection
I have learnt a lot from this trip and would not have enjoyed myself if not for my buddy, Hsin Peng. Although she was hyper active, the trip was still fun with her. I would also like to thank the teachers for posting memorial pictures of us in Taiwan and guiding us during the trip. I would also like to thank Xinee 姐姐 and Auntie Rita for preparing good food and a nice place for us to stay. I would like to thank Xinee 姐姐especially as she brought joy and laughter in the bus when we were bored. I enjoyed myself most when learning the Chinese script in the English Village as it was not plainly learning and memorising the script and acting it out. Instead we learnt how to dance 小苹果although it was quite difficult. And we perform well all thanks to the Taiwan pupils’ encouragement and practices. They also brought humor to my team and at the same time very passionate as they teach us. I would also like to thank my Taiwan buddy for bringing me around the school and the wonderful drawings on the card. I would also like to thank the school for organising such an interesting learning trip for us. During the Taiwan trip, I learnt to be more generous as usually I would ask my parents to buy things for me, but at Taiwan I learnt to manage my spending. I also learnt to think positive and be patient when we are learning something new.
